Rummage Sale

Women’s Association will have their semi-annual “Rummage Sale” on Saturday, June 9th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please start rummaging through closets, basements and garages for items for us to sell. Items may be dropped off the day before in the Meeting House. Volunteers will be needed to help out during the day. Please contact Diana Markowitz, either at church (655-3191) or at

Family Church Picnic

The Christian Education Committee will sponsor a family church-wide picnic to be held June 10th on the lawns of the church. There will be games and fellowship for all. The committee would like you to bring a dish to pass and your place settings for your family. The committee will be serving hotdogs, hamburgers, watermelon and beverage.

Open Your Heart Event Features Local Artists

Elizabeth Cummings Monroe with her work of art titled "Africa". Monroe will be one of the featured artists at the CazCares Fundraiser.

The third Open Your Heart fundraiser for CazCares will feature the art of local artists.  On Saturday May 12th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM local artists will showcase their art for sale to the community.  Painting, sculpture, photography, woodworking, and unique crafts will all be available for sale with 30% of all sales being donated to CazCares in honor of their 30th anniversary.

The event will be held in the Cazenovia Presbyterian Meeting House (Behind the Church) with the entrance on Sullivan Street.  The event is free and all are welcome to attend.  Wine, soft drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres will be served.

This is the 30th anniversary of the founding of CazCares by a core of caring individuals and churches in our community.  Over 250 Madison County families in need are regularly served by CazCares. CazCares provides food, reading programs, GED assistance, clothing, household goods and Holiday baskets, gifts and meals.  During the past three years, over $27,000 has been raised for CazCares during Open Your Heart events.

Cazenovia Brass Choir Performs April 29th

The Brass Choir along with timpanist Dan Lawitts from the Cazenovia Community Band will be offering the music at the 10:00 am morning worship service at First Presbyterian Church in Cazenovia on Sunday the 29th of April. The Brass Choir will play “Two Intrada: Maestoso and Moderato” by Melchior Franck arranged by Newell H Long and Chorales from “Early German Choales for Trombone Quartet” edited by Robert King for the Prelude. They will also play “When I Can Read My Title Clear”, a Southern Folk Hymn arranged by Dwight Gustafson. The postlude will be “Fanfare for the King for Brass and Organ”. This piece was written by Dan Lawitte, the timpanist for the group. The Brass Choir will also be accompanying the hymns during the service.

The Cazenovia Community Band is under the direction of Marv Arnold. They rehearse on Wednesdays nights at the First Presbyterian Church in Cazenovia.

Open Your Heart For Art & CazCares Form

OPEN YOUR HEART FOR ART & CAZCARES

What: An event to benefit Caz Cares and local artists.

When: Saturday, May 12th from 6:00 – 9:00

Where: Cazenovia Presbyterian Meeting Hall (Behind the Church)

Why CazCares? This is the 30th anniversary of the founding of CazCares by a core of caring individuals and churches in our community. Over 250 Madison County families in need are regularly served by CazCares. CazCares provides food, reading programs, GED assistance, clothing, household goods and Holiday baskets, gifts and meals.

Why Focus on Art? This will be an opportunity for artists to show their work, meet with people who appreciate art, develop new clients and assist a local non-profit.

Types of Work: Painting, sculpture, photography, woodworking, unique crafts. All items for sale must have a price shown on each.

Event Structure: Participating artists agree to be at the event and to donate at least 30% of the sale of their work on this evening to CazCares. Artists are encouraged to donate 100% of the sale of one piece of their work and to identify the piece, but this is not required. Artists are responsible for processing buyer payments and collecting sales tax.

Artist Donation: Artists will issue a check to CazCares at the end of the night of the event. Caz Presbyterian staff will collect all checks and present them to Caz Cares.

Set Up: Saturday, May 12th, from 12:00 to 5:00. Caz Presbyterian staff will be available to assist. Portable walls and tables will be available on a first come basis. We strongly encourage artists to bring materials necessary to display their work.

Take Down: After the event. Caz Presbyterian staff will assist.
