A special program of activities for children age 5 and older centered around the many ways that we can appreciate our world and the many  people who live here.  Sharye Skinner and BJ Palmer will serve as teachers.  Children will join their parents at the start of the church service and then go to the Wendell House after the offering.

Nursery care is available this summer for children through the age of four.

On the 12^th of June, it is going to rain and rain some more right here in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church.  We may even need an ark!!  The Sunday School, the Jubilate Choir, the Children’s Choir and parents are presenting a mini-musical titled “100% Chance of Rain,” by Walter Horsley.  You will never forget the story of Noah and the Ark after you see or take part in this musical.  You will also never  forget the true meaning of those lovely rainbows that we see after rainstorms.  The Jubilate Choir  and the Children’s Choir have been busy rehearsing and they will continue to rehearse every Sunday after church until the 12^th of June.  It takes a great deal of work to put on a musical, but our youth have a goal.  For every song that they learn $25 is being contributed to the relief fund for Japan.  They have already earned fifty dollars toward their goal of two hundred dollars.  Not only is the choir learning the story of Noah’s Ark and God’s promise to us, but they are also participating in a mission project.  So, mark the date, Sunday, June 12th, on your calendar and join us for a rainstorm!

Once again this year, the Sunday School is sponsoring “Souper Bowl for Hunger.”  This national program’s goal is to  increase awareness of hunger and the need for food pantries within communities.  We will be collecting soups and other canned goods as well as money to be donated to CazCares.  Please mark February 6 on your calendar.  Every can makes a difference for CazCares!

For a regular session children and youth attend the worship service first and are excused from service to attend Sunday School for the remainder of the service.  The first Sunday of each month the other youth, grades 7-12, will stay for the entire worship. Children are invited to use the children’s Bibles, books and children’s bulletin during worship.  The children’s bulletins are located on the bench in the narthex and are designed for children ages 3-6 and 7-12.
