Beginning July 11th thru Sept. 5th
Curriculum from Amazing Science Devotions For Children’s Ministry “How is a rainbow formed?” “Why are my fingerprints different from anyone else?” “What makes popcorn pop?” Kids are fascinated by the way the world works, and they love to learn about the science behind everyday phenomena. Kids especially enjoy experimenting with objects and scientific properties as they discover firsthand how these things work. This natural fascination is a wonderful jumping off place to help kids learn about the powerful God who created all of nature as well as learning about God’s plan for each of His children. Kids will experience many different areas of scientific exploration including biology and the natural world; physics; earth science properties of gravity, magnetism, and light and lots more. Every Sunday’s lesson is an independent stand-alone lesson, so kids came come whenever they are available.

Summer time is a wonderful time for families to spend quality time with each other. Why not make coming to church this summer part of that quality time. The First Presbyterian Church opens its doors for a 10:00 am service each Sunday morning. To make that time even more meaningful for children, a special time just for kids will be offered. This year’s Summer Sunday School is going to be lots of fun and also good to eat! Using ideas from the book Food Fun Devotions children will make popcorn balls that look like earth while they talk about creation; make peanut butter modeling dough as they discuss what it means to be the “work of God’s hands”; make Pharaoh’s fruit chariot while talking about how God parted the Red Sea and how He will take care of us in our difficult situations.

All are welcome. Dress is casual and a fully staffed nursery is available.

If you are looking for an open and friendly place to celebrate Summer, please join us the Cazenovia Presbyterian Church.

Our Sunday School kicked off the “Souper Bowl” of Caring project last week at their Mission/Breakfast Sunday. This project is a nationwide, youth led effort to mobilize congregations, schools and businesses to positively impact their communities by collecting money or food on or near Super Bowl weekend. 100% of the collections are donated directly to the charity of each groups choice; last year the collection was donated to CazCares. We will start collecting next week and continue until February 1st, Super Bowl Sunday. We will have a collection container in the Narthex and the Meeting House.

The First Presbyterian Church in Cazenovia will celebrate the Advent Season by lighting the fourth candle on the Advent wreath at its morning worship service at 10:00am on December 21st. The service will feature the traditional Christmas Pageant with Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem, shepherds watching over their flocks, wise men following a star in the East, multitudes of angels singing praises, and of coarse the baby Jesus laying in the manger. The public is invited.

The word Advent means “coming” or “arrival.” The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ in his First Advent, and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in his Second Advent. Advent is marked by a spirit of expectation, of anticipation, of preparation, of longing, of hope.

If you are looking for an open and friendly place to celebrate Sunday morning worship, please join us at the Cazenovia Presbyterian Church. Child Care and Sunday School are available during the service. For more information contact the church
